EXPLAIN HOW TO DEAL WITH THE FIDDLE, STEP-BY-STEP.
Let’s say you have clicked on the link to Andy Fluegelman’s book, The New Games Book Play Hard Play Fair Nobody Hurt.
Here’s what your click will produce:
--In the address bar you will have, in one continuous line
https://www.68amazon.com/Games-Book-Play-Hard-Nobody/dp/B002ADXB1U/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1STB3RD9SRBUW&keywords=andrew+fluegelman&qid=1653782568&s=books&sprefix=andrew+fluegelman%2Cstripbooks%2C132&sr=1-4
--and on the page below this address bar you will see something like (varies depending on the browser you are using)
This site can’t be reached
www.68amazon.com’s server IP address could not be found.
Now, move your cursor up and into the address bar. And left-click.
In some browsers (Chrome, for instance) this will highlight the whole address. In others there is no highlighting, and it seems that nothing has happened.
In either case, keeping your cursor in the address bar, left-click a second time.
This will anchor your cursor in the address bar.
So, move now your cursor to the spot between 68 and amazon, i.e.
https://www.68[here]amazon.com
and then back space twice to delete the 68.
Now you have a valid, working web address (link), again in one continuous line
[SAME AS ABOVE BUT WITHOUT THE 68]
Your cursor is still anchored in the address bar, so when you now hit ENTER, that will activate the link and the link will work, and it will take you to the
Amazon page which displays Andy’s book.
